A commissioned film poster created by Constantinos Emmanuelle of Tales of Cyprus.
This film poster was created by Constantinos Emmanuelle of Tales of Cyprus, whose distinctive vector-based graphic style shaped the design. At its centre stands Mehmet Aziz, flanked by Huseiyn Veysi on the left and Melehat Hulusi on the right - three key figures in the story. The broader malaria-cessation team is represented through the black silhouette figures that surround them.
A prominent eucalyptus tree, itself a character in the narrative, anchors the composition. The poster's setting in the Mesaoria plain evokes the ecological and historical landscape in which the 1940s malaria-education and eradication work unfolded.
We commissioned this poster from Constantinos because he has played a significant role in reviving public memory of this programme, and Mehmet Aziz is one of his personal heroes. It felt natural to invite him - as both an artist and a graphic designer - to create the visual identity for a film that honours this story.
